While you wait.....

For me to emerge from my retail jail, feast your eyes on this little gem:

This incredible site has recreated several of my favorite early Sierra adventure games (Space Quest 1, Police Quest 1, King's Quest 1, and The Black Cauldron)  playable in any browser! AND, as you're playing, you can see other people in the same game you're in! CRAZY! They say it even works on iPads and other tablets, which is also super cool.  They've added features so you don't have to type so much, they seem to run at playable speeds, and no type of installation required.  I still recommend using D-Fend and the real game download if you want to play it all the way through, as the author of sarien.net warns that there may be occasional bugs that cause you to not be able to finish the games.  Nonetheless, a great way to get a sample of what these games were about.

BUT, THERE'S MORE....

Looking at sarien.net also led me to this site:

This site has fully recreated versions of King's Quest I, King's Quest II, King's Quest III, and Quest for Glory II!  They're completely free to download and play, and the screenshots look incredible.  The games  include brand new graphics and backgrounds,  full digital music and speech, no "dead end" fixes for the gameplay, and "point and click" options instead of typing.  Highly recommended!

Be back soon!  Please enjoy this picture of grumpy cat.
